I tried searching on this a bit but all I get is stuff that's related to car starter wiring. All I'm trying to do is to use a momentary push button switch to control a linear solenoid. The solenoid is 12v.  Big question is do I need a relay to control it? I assume I don't want 12v traveling to the switch.
